Cleaning & Prevention

 Dental Exams & Cleanings

At your first visit a complete head and neck exam will be performed along with a thorough examination of your mouth. At this visit we will determine what type of cleaning is best for you and if any dental work is needed.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays are the latest technological advancement for dental professionals. This great innovation substantially reduces your exposure to radiation from x-rays, making your visit to our office safer, faster and easier than ever before. Digital X-Rays may reveal:

  • Abscesses or cysts
  • Bone loss
  • Cancerous and non-cancerous tumors
  • Decay between the teeth
  • Developmental abnormalities
  • Poor tooth and root positions
  • Bone loss
  • Cancerous and non-cancerous tumors
  • Problems inside teeth or below gum line

Sealants

Sealant are one of the best ways to prevent a cavity from starting. A sealant is basically a plastic coating over the top surface of the tooth that eliminates all those deep pits in your teeth where bacteria start to cause cavities.

Home Care

Our trained staff will show you the best way to maintain your oral hygiene by showing you how to effectively brush and floss your teeth.

How to brush your teeth:
  1. Place the brush at a 45 degree angle to the gums and gently brush using a small, circular motion, ensuring that you always feel the bristles on the gums.
  2. Brush the outer, inner, and biting surfaces of each tooth.
  3. Use the tip of the brush to clean the inside of the front teeth.
  4. Brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath.
  5. Two minutes of brushing both morning and night is typically adequate to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
